Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do we get started?
    Please click on our "Let's Get Started" buttons, under the E-Design or Consultations sections. This will guide you to our short contact form, where you will be asked to provide your contact details, and tell us a little bit about your project. We will then be in touch to provide you with our design questionnaire, and discuss setting up a phone call.
  • What areas do you serve?
    We are based in Prince Edward County, and serve this area in addition to Belleville, Quinte West, and Napanee. Our E-Design services allow us to provide services to clients worldwide!
  • Can you include some of my existing pieces?
    Of course! We look forward to finding creative ways to incorporate existing pieces and family heirlooms. We also aim to speak candidly with our clients about what will work, and what won't, within the design of your new space.
  • Where do you source products?
    We purchase product from a variety of sources tailored to your project and budget. We pride ourselves on sourcing from local businesses as well as online and catalogue vendors and retailers.
  • What is your pricing?
    At Homebody Design Company we strive to be honest and transparent about costs and pricing. As a result, you will find our package and consultation pricing clearly laid out on our website. We also offer an hourly rate of $100/hour should clients wish to have additional design work completed.
  • How would you define the design style at Homebody Design Co.?
    We love working with clients who have varying design styles and preferences. That said, whenever we can, we love designing what we call Transitional spaces; a blend of traditional and modern elements coming together to create refined, yet casual spaces.
  • How do I know what package is right for me?
    We've tried to keep our packaging as simple as possible, by offering packages based on general room size. If you're not sure where your space fits it, or you have multiple spaces, please feel free to contact us and we'd be happy to help!
  • I'm building/renovating a whole home. Does that fit with Homebody Design Co.'s E-Design Packages?
    Absolutely! We love working with both new build homes, and home renovations, and feel that our E-Design packages are a great fit. We still price per room for full house packages, but we offer multiple space discounts. If you're not sure which spaces you'd like to design, we may suggest an in-person Consultation to meet with you in the space, and better decide what package(s) could work for you. Please reach out if this sounds like something you might be interested in.
  • I have an open concept floor plan. How many packages will I need?
    We love designing open concept spaces! To ensure that each space feels cohesive and thoughtful, we still require that you purchase a package for each room within the space (eg. kitchen, living room, powder room). If you're not sure which package or direction to take, please reach out and we'd be happy to help!
  • How quickly can I expect to receive my design package?
    We are able to provide you with a detailed design package within 2-3 weeks following our initial call and payment.
  • What if I'm not happy with my E-Design package?
    It is always our goal is to create a unique and personalized design that caters to your preferences and needs. We understand that everyone has their own taste and style, and we strive to incorporate that into our designs. However, we are happy to include one rounds of revisions with every design package if needed. We have generally found that our client's are thrilled with their design package, but if after reviewing the designs you'd like to make some changes, please let us know within 5 business days.
  • How do we communicate during the design process?
    All of our projects begin with a phone call and questionnaire. During the design process, most of our communication takes place digitally via email, however scheduled phone calls can be reserved if needed as well. We value your time as much as our own rest and family time, so we typically stay out of our inbox late at night and maybe take a little longer to respond on weekends.
  • How does selecting paint colours work with virtual design?
    We will recommend paint and stain options for your space using paint decks we have on hand. We always recommend testing paint colours in your space using paint swatches, which can be obtained from your local paint store, including smaller sample pots or paper swatches.
